Statement Of Faith

I
We believe the Holy Scripture, the sixty six books of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed (2Tim. 3:16-17; Matt. 5:18; 2Pet. 1:20,21; John 16:12,13).
II

We believe that there is only one living and true God- perfect, infinite and eternal (Exo. 20-16; Matt. 5:48; I Kings 8:27; Psa. 90:2); works all things according to the counsel of His will (Eph. 1:11); is unchangeable in His being; wisdom, power, holiness, justice , goodness, love and truth (Mal. 3:6; 1Tim. 1:17; Gen. 17:1; Isa. 6:3; Osa. 19:9; Exo. 34:6; John 3:16); is the Creator, preserver and ruler of the Universe (Gen. 1:1; Heb. 11:3; Nah. 9:6; Heb. 1:2,3; Psa. 103:19); exists in three persons, namely: Father, Son and Holy Spirit ? co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory and having the same attributes and perfections (Deut. 6:4; IICor. 13:14) and harmonious in the execution of their distinct offices (Eph. 2:18; Jn. 14:26, 15:26).
III
A. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, eternal Son of God became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man (Isa. 9:6; Matt. 1:18-25; John 1:1-2, 14, 18; I Tim. 3:16; Heb. 2:14 ; Luke 1:35).
B. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as the representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justicifation is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead (Rom. 3:24; Heb. 10:9,10; 1Pet.2:24 ; Eph. 1:7, 1Pet 1:3-5).
C. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor and Advocate (Acts 1:9-10; Heb. 9:24; Romans 8:24; 1John 2:1,2).
IV
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. His ministry since His advent at Pentecost is to reprove or convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement (Jn. 16:8-12); to restrain the progress of evil until God?s purposes are accomplished (II Thess. 2:7); to generate those who repent of their sins and exercise faith in Christ (Jn. 3:3-8; Titus 3:5); to instruct, comfort and guide God?s children (John 14:16-18); to sanctify believers for life and service (Rom. 8:12; Acts 1:8; Eph. 3:16; 1 Cor. 2:1-4; 1Thess. 1:5); to resurrect their mortal bodies (Rom. 8:11).
V
A. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam?s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally deprived physically, mentally, morally and spiritually ? and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Gen. 1:26-27; Eph. 2:1-3, 22; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12).
B. We believe that salvation is the gift of God, purchased by christ whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins, brought to man in grace by the work of the Holy spirit that causes man to voluntarily repent of his sin and place faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:4,5,9,11; Eph. 2:8-10; 2Thess 2:13; 2Tim. 1:9; 1 Cor. 1:30; Jn. 1:12; 1Pet.1:18,19)).
C. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God?s power and are thus secure in Christ forever (Jn. 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1,38,39; I Cor. 1:4-8; 1Pet. 1:5); therefore it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God?s Word; which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to sin (Rom. 13:13,14; Gal. 5:13; Titus 2:11-15).
VI
A. We believe that the Church invisible and universal is an organism composed of all those in this present age who are called out of the world, separated to God and vitally united by faith to Christ, its living Head (Ipet. 2:9; John 15:18; Eph. 1:22, 23; 4:14,16; I Cor. 12:12-27).
B. We believe that the Church local and visible is an organization made up of professed believers in Christ, voluntarily joined together and meeting at stated times of worship, fellowship and instruction in the Scriptures and observing the ordinances, administering oversight and discipline (Acts 2:46, 47; 20:7; Icor. 16:2; Matt. 18:15-17; I Cor. 5:1-5; Acts 6:1-6; 14:23).
C. We believe that it is the duty of the Church to give the gospel as a witness to all men (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8), to glorify God (1Pet. 4:11) and to build itself up in the most holy faith (Jude 20:21; Eph. 4:11,12,16; Acts 20:32).
VII
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has left the ordinances to be observed by the local church in commemorating His person and work, and that these are not a means of salvation, but symbolic visible signs to the realities of salvation. The one is that of baptism (immersion) in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The other is the partaking of the Lord?s supper (Matt. 28:19,20; Acts 2:41, 46, 47; Acts 16:33; 1Cor. 11:23-32). No person is qualified to have part in either of these tow ordinances unless he has been born from above (Acts 2:41,42).
VIII
We believe that Satan was once holy, and enjoyed heavenly honor, but due to pride and ambition to be as God Almighty, fell and drew after him a host of angels, thus becoming the author of sin; that he is now the prince of the power of the air, the cause of the fall of man, the author of the powers of darkness, the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the lake o fire (isa. 14:12-15; Ezek. 28 :14-27; Gen. 3:1-6; Matt. 24:31; Eph. 2:2; Heb. 2:14; II Peter 2:4; Jude 6; Revelation 12:9; 20:10).
IX
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgement and everlasting punishment (Matt. 25:46; Jn. 5:28; 11:25,26; Revelation 20:5,6,13).
X
We believe that the Christian life can only be lived as Christ lives and reigns within the believer (Gal. 2:20; Col. 1:27,28), that the Holy Spirit enables the believer to live a victorious life (Rom. 8:1-4; Eph. 3:16), thus fulfilling God?s command (I Peter 1:15); that the believer is not to be conformed to this world (Rom. 12:1,2; 1Jn.2:15), but it is to glorify God in all things (1Cor. 10:31; Col. 3:17), and cooperate with God in becoming conformed to the image of His Son (Rom. 8:29; Phil. 2:12, 13) and that the believer, enabled by the Holy Spirit will be a faithful witness of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8).
XI
We believe, according to the Scripture, in the sure return of the Lord Jesus Christ; that this second coming will be a literal, bodily, personal return; that His coming for His bride, the Church, constitute the Blessed Hope set before us, for which we should be [constantly looking, and that Christ?s coming wil be premillenial ] expecting. (1 Thess. 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-13; Acts 1:11; Revelation 20:1-6).
XII
We believe that civil government is ordained of God for the punishment of evil-doers and for the protection of the good (Romans 13:1-7); that is, it is our duty to pray for rulers and those in authority (1Tim. 2:1-3), and to be submissive to their authority, except in things opposed to the will of God and our Lord Jesus Christ who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the coming Prince of the Kings of the earth (Matt. 22:21; Acts 4 :19; 5:29; & 19,20; I Peter 2:13-17).
